February 22, 2009 – Crime #731

Crime Stoppers of Lewis County and the Centralia Police Department are seeking your assistance in a suspicious fire at Paradise Video, 1011 South Gold in Centralia.  On the morning of 1/29/09, Centralia Police took a report of a suspicious fire at the Paradise Video on South Gold in Centralia.

At about 5:30 a.m. a Centralia officer noticed an unusual amount of smoke coming from the back of the business.  Upon investigation he noticed an attached storage shed on the back of the building was ablaze.  The fire department was called to the scene and the fire was put out before the main building was consumed.  It was later determined that a deliberate act started the fire.

February 15, 2009 – Crime #730

Crime Stoppers of Lewis County and the Winlock Police Department are seeking your assistance in a burglary investigation.  On February 17, 2009 at about 7:00 a.m. employees discovered the Winlock Liquor Store was broken into and ransacked.  An excess of fifty fifths of assorted liquors were reported stolen consisting of Crown Royal XR, Gray Goose Vodka, Jack Daniels, Captain Morgan Rum, Aho Tequilla, and many more brands.  The loss is estimated over $2000.

February 08, 2009 – Crime #729

Crime Stoppers of Lewis County and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office are seeking your assistance in a theft from a construction site. On 01/20/09 at about 0830 hours employees from Scarsella Brothers discovered they were the victims of a theft that occurred overnight. The employees stored a cure box on top of the new Labree Road overpass. The cure box looks like a white chest freezer with grey and black 4″ lettering “IGUIS.” The cure box is used to keep cement pour cylinder samples at 70 degrees for the Washington State Department of Transportation. The theft is estimated over $1500.

Crime Stoppers of Lewis County and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office are seeking your assistance in a burglary investigation.  On 01/17/09, a homeowner in the 500 block of Antrim Road reported a residential burglary.  The residence was ransacked and several items were stolen.  The victim reported a Medallion Berenger amplifier, an electric guitar and amplifier, a Harmony acoustic guitar, a gold necklace with a diamond cross pendant, Black Hills Gold cross, a men’s gold ring, two Black Hills Gold rings, and two silver earrings.  The value is estimated at over $2000.
